William Genius was arrested on January 6 in Blossom City. He was one of the senior programmers of a local software developing company.
Genius was arrested on charges of creating and spreading a computer virus. He appeared yesterday . He pleaded not guilty. His lawyers indicated that they will proof that although all evidence indicate that the virus was activated and spread over the internet from a computer at Genius's home, it was not him , but the computer that wrote the malicious program. They claim to be able to proof that it!
We are not sure how they will able to load on the guilt on the computer ? Our investigations seem to indicate that they will lead expert witnesses to indicate that the DNA genetic code is also a computer program. If mother nature was able to create human beings through a computer program , than it is highly likely that a modern computer can create programs independently without human interference. This interesting case was postponed until May 25. Genius was released on $300,000 bail.
We wonder if the prosecution be able to proof beyond reasonable doubt that the computer is innocent and get a guilty verdict? A frightening thought, computers clever enough to program on their own. Is it the dawn of the age of terminators?

Do YOU think it is possible for a computer to program itself without human interference? Is it statistically possible? What are the odds?

If "mother nature" could do it , can't a digital computer do it? A computer have also an advantage! Intelligence already created and put into place the hardware and some of the software necessary to do it. Mother nature had to start from scratch. She had do develop the hardware and software simultaneously.

We ask again is it statistically possible? What are the odds?
